U 105 Radio is designed to be an engaging, interactive media platform Where Visions, Voices and Community Live. U105 Radio broadcasts live from the company's (HBCU TV Network) headquarters' in Atlanta, Ga. The radio station has created a business model that will offer opportunities for students and faculty to contribute to programming, participate as on-air personalities, and provide internship and job opportunities tailored for HBCU students.
Manager of New Media and Digital Radio, Tara Humphries, said, "U105 Radio will focus on providing the students and faculty associated with our member institutions an opportunity to become a part of our programming mix. Those opportunities include hosting live shows at official U105 Radio events, college tours, live sound stage recordings, on-air specials, and more."
U105 Radio programming will reflect the interests and trends among HBCU students and the surrounding communities by integrating music from unsigned talent, as well as the latest chart-topping artist.
"We will provide our listening audience with a unique music experience by granting exposure for groundbreaking artists from around the world in Neo and Acoustic Soul, Hip Hop, R&B, Inspirational, and Deep House genres, and mixing them in with the popular artists we've come to know and love," Humphries continued.
